Blood, sweat and 300 impressionistic youth fill the unassuming warehouse, hub of the DIY scene to modest acclaim. Judging from Saturday’s event on July 28, Minty Boi’s collaboration with Fun Nihilist’s first issue launch party was no different. Booking the likes of Milk Soul, who played at 9 p.m., BOYO on 9:45 p.m., HØUNDS at 10:30 p.m. and Fringe on 11:15 p.m. Headlining alongside the top bill spanning from 12 – 1 a.m. were infamous local heavy hitters in the underground scene, Kate Mo$$ and Girl Pusher. No Surprise to fans, who opted to see these bands but also to support the independent starter up mag created by Emma DiMaggio. Selling almost the whole stock of magazines, a quick glance around the crowd assured our prominence if only for a night. This gesture was spread virally throughout the whole night creating an electric night to remember. Also the fits were amazing.
